Frequently Asked Questions

Should you seek treatment in Chesterfield County, or look further away?

Chesterfield County, just south of Richmond, has mostly DUI and court-ordered evaluations locally, education classes. A court education class is not treatment. If that is all your situation needs, fine, meet the requirement. But if the drinking or using is a real problem, do not let the court box be your whole plan. Real clinical care and medical withdrawal are a short drive into Richmond, where there are free long-term faith-based programs and peer-driven programs and sober living, running several months to a year, and farther out, long-term programs covering family situations. For a dangerous alcohol or benzo withdrawal, a local hospital handles withdrawal first, since those are deadly to stop alone. Separate the two questions. Do the court requirement locally if you have one. If the problem is real, a DUI class will not touch it, and the actual treatment is a short drive into Richmond. The guy who confuses the two keeps drinking right up to the next charge.
