Relapse Prevention Programs for Drug & Alcohol Addiction in New Jersey

Drug addiction does affect many of the communities throughout the state of New Jersey. The best way to treat any type of drug problem is going through treatment, and during the rehabilitation process, you will learn relapse prevention techniques. The relapse prevention process does incorporate counseling techniques, behavioral therapy, educational tools, and other forms of therapy. It is important to address all the underlying issues connected to the addiction. When you can recognize your triggers, you can prevent many of the relapses from every happening. However, the National Institute on Drug Abuse does report that roughly 40 to 60% of recovering addicts do relapse once after treatment. It is important to understand, that much of relapse prevention does fall onto you, and your ability to work on your sobriety. Most recovering addicts will maintain contact with support groups, such as 12-step meetings, and this will all contribute to your sobriety.
