Relapse Prevention Programs for Drug & Alcohol Addiction in Ohio

Relapse prevention is the process of helping addicts ensure they do not relapse when they leave a drug rehab program in Ohio. Whether it is residential or outpatient treatment, you will go through some type of relapse prevention counseling, behavioral therapy, educational programs or other types of therapy. Relapse prevention is essential because the National Institute on Drug Abuse does report that roughly 40 to 60% of recovering addicts relapse after treatment. The relapse prevention methods you would use, should also be continued when you are done drug rehab. Many recovering addicts in Ohio will attend some type of aftercare treatment, where they can continue to work on their sobriety. There is also the option of continuing with 12-step meetings and staying connected to other sober like-minded people. Much of relapse prevention does fall onto you, but if you can take the proper steps to ensure your own sobriety, you will beat your drug addiction.
