Relapse Prevention Programs for Drug & Alcohol Addiction in South Carolina

Substance abuse and addiction is a dangerous problem, but when you do go through a drug rehab center in South Carolina, you will work through some type of relapse prevention counseling. Relapse prevention can be individual or group therapy, behavioral modification, cognitive therapy, and other educational methods. Drug treatment will start the process for relapse prevention, but when you leave rehabilitation, much of relapse prevention does fall onto you. When you are finished drug treatment, you should be considering some type of aftercare treatment, or staying connected with support groups. The more you can do when you leave treatment; all of this will contribute to your sobriety. Relapse prevention after treatment should also be perused, and this could be 12-step meetings, support groups, and essentially maintaining a support network. Relapse prevention is important, and when you can treat the underlying issues and the reasons why you started to abuse drugs; this will be part of relapse prevention.
