Rhode Island Partial Hospitalization Programs for Alcohol and Drug Addiction

When someone attends a partial hospitalization program in Rhode Island, they will receive comprehensive treatment services and medical monitoring during the day, but they will not be staying the night. Partial hospitalization programs are outpatient centers but provide more in-depth treatment than a typical outpatient program in Rhode Island. The length of time needed at one of these centers will depend on the addiction and if there are any medical problems or mental health issues. Partial hospitalization programs are often referred to as day programs, and only offer outpatient care and support. These programs are beneficial for addicts who do not require 24-hour care, or those who have a stable home environment, and can make it to treatment each day. A person attending a partial hospitalization program will attend the center three to five days per week for four to eight hours each day, and this can last a week or more, but this will depend on the addiction and what is needed to treat it.
