South Carolina Drug And Alcohol Short Term Programs

When a drug or alcohol addiction is at its worse, it is not always the users who have been addicts for life, it can in most cases be users who have been abusing drugs or alcohol for a few years.  Unfortunately, many people will not see this as an issue, but for the person using they will only be seeing his or her life get worse.

In the state of South Carolina, there are over ten different facilities that offer short term residential treatment.  These facilities are spread all over the state and can typically offer help right away.

Did you know this about short term drug treatment programs?

Short term drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs are usually associated with 28 day programs. This is not always the case, some short term programs will only last a couple weeks, but do have aftercare programs set up to help maintain sobriety.

In the state of South Carolina, many different 28-day drug and alcohol treatment centers can be found that will treat all different forms of addiction.  Some of these 28-day  programs will require an addict to be sober prior to entering the program.  This may require some form of detox if the center does not offer it on site.  Some addicts may need a medical detox if they are taking dangerous drugs that cannot  be stopped all at once due to the dangerous withdrawals.  Either way, a 28-day treatment facility is a good place to start when wanting to solve an addiction problem.

South Carolina Short-Term Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Centers

Short-term drug treatment centers may not always be capable of treating severe addictions, and addicts who have been struggling with addiction for all of their lives. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration directory only provide a listing of ten resources for short-term drug treatment. This is not an extensive list of services, but some options can be found for addicts struggling with moderate to severe addictions.

How long can a residential treatment program last?

A residential short-term program can last upwards of month, and may go longer if the family or addict makes further arrangements. A lengthy drug treatment program can be very beneficial to help a patient through their addiction, as it does provide the necessary time to help an addict through all aspects of their problem.
