A lot of people just don't know what treatment options are out there or have one set idea in their mind of what treatment is. Others just fear coming off the drugs and the subsequent withdrawal symptoms. Regardless of the reason for not going to treatment right now, most drug users don't want to be addicted anymore. They're just stuck in the same cycle of using, withdrawing, and finding more drugs to feel better again.

Thankfully, there are different treatment options in Spokane County that can help address whatever the concern is. For those who are concerned about feeling bad from detoxing, there are medical detox programs that can assist you in smoothly coming off the drugs with minimal discomfort. This is accomplished by using specialized medications that alleviate withdrawal symptoms. These are gradually reduced allowing the person to become completely drug-free within several days. It's important that the person come off these medications altogether, as they can be addictive themselves and are best used for short periods to manage withdrawal symptoms.

After detox, a person has two main options for treatment. The first is known as an inpatient substance abuse treatment. This type of treatment takes place at a facility where the patient goes to live during the process. Usually around 4 weeks in length, this type of treatment is considered the gold standard for rehab. It allows the person to get out of the environment where they continually obtain and use drugs and puts certain restrictions in place that aid recovery. The around-the-clock approach gives intensive support to the person, aiding them in adjusting to a chemical-free life as rapidly as possible.

Another option for treatment is known as an outpatient treatment. This type allows a person to continue living at home and attending obligations like work or school. The patient travels to the facility, attending therapeutic sessions multiple times per week. Each session is usually a couple of hours long and is accompanied by a drug test. This form of treatment is best for those with less than severe addiction or who have already completed an inpatient program and are looking for continued support. People who choose outpatient treatment for convenience only usually wind up in trouble due to the lack of support and restrictions.

When choosing a treatment that's right for your needs in Spokane county get some help with finding what's the right fit for you. You can always speak with an addiction professional confidentially. With today's options, there's never a reason why you can't get help now.
