TennCare in Tennessee is the Medicaid provider for people living in the state who are eligible to receive Medicaid. Medicaid is a free or low-cost health insurance provider and can help people suffering from a substance abuse disorder pay for drug and alcohol treatment.

Not every drug rehabilitation program in Tennessee will take Medicaid, but some facilities that offer inpatient or outpatient services; detox, or counseling programs can take Medicaid to pay for treatment.
