Texas Detoxification & Rehabs for PCP (Phencyclidine) Addiction

Can a drug test detect PCP?

Phencyclidine (PCP) is a drug that can be detected using blood tests and urine tests. Blood tests can yield a positive result for up to 3 days after the last dose. However, urine tests will yield a positive result for 4 to 6 hours. However, the quantity ingested can influence the detection times.

PCP is an illegal substance that is similar to ketamine, and is sold as a white powder, or it can also be sold illegally as a tablet or a liquid. When PCP is taken as a tablet, the effects can take effect within the 30 to 60 minutes, and it has been known for these effects to last upwards of 48 hours in some cases. PCP or phencyclidine is a potent dissociative anesthetic/tranquilizer, and does act as a hallucinogenic type of drug. PCP is still a drug that is used recreationally throughout the United States, and within the state of Texas may be some areas where the drug is at the same time sold and abused. Anyone struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction in Texas should reach out to local treatment services. Drug rehabilitation methods are usually offered out of residential or outpatient treatment centers. Supervised drug detox is important, because the withdrawal effects caused by PCP abuse can be dangerous and difficult to go through.
