Transitional Housing Programs for Drug & Alcohol Addiction in California

Throughout the state of California, are numerous types of transitional housing programs for people who are homeless, struggling with mental health issues, or recovering from addiction. A transitional home is a bridge between shelter and permanent housing, and the length of stay at one is determined by the home. Transitional homes can offer safe and supportive environments for people who are homeless and trying to get out of homelessness. This type of housing could offer general supportive counseling and will aid with securing regular housing. Most transitional homes will operate in areas where the demand is high, and where there is access to affordable housing. Even after staying at a transitional home in California, you may not be able to afford regular housing. Getting yourself out of homelessness is not easy, and it does take time and work to begin to rebuild your life again. Transitional housing in many cities is also accessed by refugee families, to aid in finding something more permanent.
