Transitional Housing Programs for Drug & Alcohol Addiction in Indiana

Transitional homes in Indiana can be a specific building, and some are mobile units, but the purpose of these homes is to provide a bridge from a shelter to permanent housing. Once you leave a transitional home, you will be moving to permanent housing, and often this is an affordable housing program. Transitional housing helps people who are homeless, along with families who are homeless. When you stay at one of these services, you will receive basic supportive counseling services, job skills training, and other supportive programs that may be provided. The purpose of staying at a transitional housing program is to rebuild your life, find work, and or get your kids in school, etc. The length of stay you need at a transitional housing program will be different for each person or family. For example, you could stay for a few weeks, or it could be upwards of a couple of years living there. This is why there are no waiting lists for transitional housing normally; accessibility is available when a room or unit opens up.
