Transitional Housing Programs for Drug & Alcohol Addiction in New Mexico

The transition homes that are available in the state of New Mexico are there to help bridge the gap between a shelter, such as an emergency shelter, and new permanent housing. There are many circumstances where someone is living in the state and is working but cannot afford regular housing. There are also circumstances, where an individual or family is completely homeless and is having to stay at an emergency shelter. These circumstances are extremely difficult to go through, and this is why shelters will refer individuals and families to transitional housing. When you are living at a transition home, you will typically have to pay something. However, there may be transition homes that are completely funded, or operated by religious organizations or a non-profit group, who relies on outside donations. When you have to pay to live at a transition home, it will be a certain percentage of household income. Transition homes are excellent resources to help individuals and families find permanent housing.
