For example, individuals and families who are homeless, veterans, homeless teens and young adults, working homeless, and refugees. The purpose of a transition home is to bridge the gap between living in a shelter and finding more permanent housing. Typically, the transition homes in South Dakota are operating in areas where the need is high, and where this is access to affordable housing. Transition homes cannot necessarily work without being attached to affordable housing.
