Throughout the state of Alaska, there are a few different drug and alcohol rehab centers that can accept Tricare Insurance, as this is civilian insurance provided to military members and retired members. Members in the military can be in situations where they can become addicted to drugs and or alcohol, and it is important that the right kind of help is available. The Salvation Army provides a program that can offer free and low budget treatment and provides an outpatient program for substance abuse treatment. Two other programs are offered to deliver outpatient drug and alcohol rehab and providing programs for the military and its members. These services are offered throughout the state of Alaska, along with many other different programs that can help treat substance abuse and addiction.

Military Insurance Coverage
Within the state of Alaska, active-duty service members, and retired service members of the United States Military receive health insurance coverage from Tricare under the Military Health System. These benefits will also cover active duty and retired member’s dependents. Within these health insurance policies, retirees and active-duty service members who are struggling with a substance disorder or mental health problem can have some types of treatment covered under their health insurance. Covered services with Tricare may include intensive outpatient, inpatient treatment, detox; medication-assisted treatment, treatment for opioid addiction, or hospitalization programs. It is not uncommon for service members and veterans who live in Alaska to struggle with addiction and substance abuse disorders. It is important that these individuals have access to the treatment they need in the state when they reach out for help. Some of the drug and alcohol treatment programs in Alaska will be able to take military health insurance to help pay for the cost of treatment.
