Military Insurance Coverage
Active duty service members and retired United States Military service members receive health insurance through the Military Health System and provide different types of healthcare for its members. Those who live in Washington D.C. and are covered within the Military Health System will more than likely receive their health insurance coverage from Tricare. Tricare is the civilian organization overseen by the Defense Health Agency and delivers health insurance to active-duty service members and retired members and as well as their dependents of the United States Military. It is not uncommon for members of the military to struggle with drug and alcohol addiction or a substance abuse disorder, and their health insurance can help pay for drug treatment options in Washington D.C. Drug treatment services such as inpatient care, outpatient treatment, detox, or hospitalization programs in the nation’s capital may be covered by military health insurance.
