Utah Substance Abuse Assessment Services

In order for a family and an addict to locate suitable drug rehabilitation resources within the state of Utah, they may have to search the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration directory. What they may not find on that directory, is where a person can go to receive an addiction assessment or evaluation, which is a useful tool in determining addiction. Most professional assessments are conducted at mental health clinics, or private clinics, with other options such as self-assessments done on-line.

Will my family have to be with during a clinical assessment?

Not necessarily, only if the patient is requesting their family is with them, and in some cases a qualified clinician can determine what type of family history is there. It is not uncommon that family relationships may be broken or severely damaged, and the patient will be uncomfortable with having them there during the assessment.
