Addicted.org is now accepting article submissions!
At Drug Rehab Services, DRS, and Addicted.org, our goal is to be the most comprehensive website in the field of substance abuse. Our purpose is to increase awareness through education in an effort to prevent substance abuse and help those suffering to find rehabilitation.
To accomplish our goal and further our purpose, we are accepting article submissions from experts across the country. If you are an addiction professional who can provide insight into the issues related to substance abuse, please reach out to us at writeforus@addicted.org.
What we are looking for:
- Original pieces that are not currently published.
- Information backed by sources of authority on the subject.
- A writing style that is easily understood by everyone, so the information can be utilized by as many people as possible.
Word count is not an issue, so feel free to write as little or as much as possible. The most important thing is that the article flows well and engages the reader.
It is important to note that our organization tends to shy away from endorsing facilities or recovery methods that use drugs as their main treatment option to get an individual off drugs. We believe that an individual should do their best to come off drugs completely, whenever possible, before starting a treatment plan of MAT or psychiatric medication. It’s not that these methods can’t be effective, but because the mental toll of substance abuse and symptoms of drug withdrawal are so similar to many other mental health issues.
Due to this observation, we tend to lean more towards a treatment approach that tries to get an individual stable off of drugs before prescribing them new ones. If your article provides some insight on recovery along this viewpoint, we would be more likely to feature it. That being said, the article doesn’t have to be directly about this topic or viewpoint, it just shouldn’t contradict it. (If you need further clarification on this or want to pitch your idea before you write it, feel free email the above-mentioned address.)
If your article gets accepted, we would feature a short bio about you with a picture of you underneath the article, so please include this with your article submission so we have a better idea of your experience in the field and any relevant credentials.
