Wyoming Long-Term Rehab

At Addicted.org, we believe that long-term treatment is the most effective approach to overcoming addiction. Here are a few reasons why:

  • During a long-term program in Wyoming, individuals can identify the different triggers for their addiction and find different ways not to be affected.
  • Another benefit of long-term treatment is building a healthy lifestyle and better habits.
  • It is ideal, especially when there is an addiction to alcohol or opioids, as those can be very difficult to undo.
  • Such programs help people rebuild their lives and learn how to achieve their sobriety and maintain it.

Getting Help With Substance Use: The Basics

Paying for Treatment in Wyoming

When struggling with a drug or alcohol addiction, substance use treatment programs are a crucial way to overcome the addiction. The cost of drug treatment can be challenging for some as programs can range from accepting private health insurance to costing a significant amount. While many people are insured throughout the country, a percentage of people without health insurance can limit options for drug and alcohol rehab services. Thankfully, drug treatment services have expanded, allowing patients to receive care regardless of financial status. Understanding all options available to you is important to find a program best suited to your needs, including addiction and financial responsibility.

Paying for Treatment with Medicaid in Wyoming

Wyoming struggles with a larger-than-average rate of uninsured residents due to the low population in the state. This impacts the premiums, causing them to be much more costly. The state has refused Medicaid expansion, which is also to blame for high uninsured rates. A subsidy helps many residents afford their premiums, but many still do not receive any assistance for affordable health care. Wyoming is just one of twelve states that have not implemented the Medicaid expansion. Typically, Medicaid can pay for specific drug and alcohol rehab centers. Still, without any Medicaid assistance, some Wyoming residents do not have assistance paying for drug treatment. Sliding scale or cash-pay programs are available in the state to make some options more affordable for drug users.

Using Private Insurance to Pay for Drug Rehab in Wyoming

A private health insurance policy is a great way to pay for a substance use treatment program. All health insurance plans offer coverage for basic drug and alcohol addiction services. This can include drug rehab programs, outpatient care, and more. The health insurance provider will work with specific drug rehab centers and only cover those programs’ costs. It is important to know which programs are covered and what will be covered with your policy. This can differ from policy to policy, even under the same health insurance provider. Often there will be some out-of-pocket expenses that your insurance provider should be able to explain to you. Private health insurance policies offer patients more options for drug treatment care which is a vital step in ending drug addiction.

According to the Wyoming Health Insurance Marketplace Guide 2023, the following insurers are available in Wyoming:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming
  • Mountain Health CO-OP

Paying for Treatment When Uninsured

Medicaid and private health insurance policies are usually the most utilized assistance when enrolling in a drug rehab program; however, the state of Wyoming is particularly vulnerable to addiction as there is no Medicaid coverage. To help those who do not have the financial means to pay for treatment or have no health insurance policy, some programs assist clients with either cash-payment options where the costs can be broken up the cost into payments or a sliding scale that bases the cost of the program on the client’s income to make it a more affordable option for them.

Addicted.org’s Evaluation of Wyoming Drug Rehabs

There are limited substance use treatment options in Wyoming. The bulk of these programs is outpatient. There are limited options for residential and detoxification. Our experts advise contacting more than one facility, such as a residential or outpatient program, and finding out about availability and wait lists.

Most of the substance use treatment providers in the state take Medicaid or private health insurance. In addition, about three-quarters of the programs offer sliding fee scales for clients and treatment at no charge or minimal payment for clients who cannot pay. Overall there are affordable options in Wyoming. We recommend not ruling anything out and exploring every available possibility in the state.

Withdrawal and the fear of going through it is one biggest reason why an addict continues to use and can be the most difficult part of the rehabilitation process. His experience in the withdrawal atmosphere has taught him that regardless of what approach a person takes to get off drugs, there are always mental and emotional obstacles that need to be overcome. He believes having someone there to help a person through these obstacles can make all the difference during the withdrawal process.
