Empire Recovery Center is a non-profit substance use recovery organization in Redding, California that has been serving Northern California since 1971. What started as a place to help people through early mornings after heavy drinking has grown into a continuum of care where adults whose alcohol or drug use has begun affecting daily functioning, relationships, work, or housing stability can find structured support and connection. It isn’t a place people check into and leave unchanged. It’s a community-based setting where recovery work is part of lived experience.
Where Stabilization and Insight Meet Real Life
People come here at moments when repeated use is already showing up in the parts of life they still care about, such as family obligations, jobs, legal expectations, or housing pressures, and when trying to manage things on their own hasn’t brought sustained change. Empire offers non-medical withdrawal management (detox) to help the body settle first, residential treatment stays (30–90 days) where daily routines, peer support, and structured programming build new habits, and outpatient counseling that helps people carry recovery into daily life.
Daily Life With Structure and Support
Residential life at Empire doesn’t ask you to escape life; it anchors you long enough to notice patterns and start shifting them. Days include individualized and group work grounded in evidence-informed models like Cognitive Behavioral approaches, Relapse Prevention, and motivational interviewing, alongside mutual-help support (AA, NA) and community-oriented activities. The setting emphasizes routine, connection with peers who understand similar struggles, and practical skills like coping strategies and life skills that matter beyond the program walls.
Outpatient Work That Meets You Where You Are
For people who need recovery support while staying in their communities, the outpatient services provide scheduled group and individual sessions, case management, and skill-building designed to help clients integrate pro-recovery choices into their real-world routines. Family involvement and vocational development components encourage continuity between treatment and life responsibilities.
A Setting for People Ready to Change Within Their World
Empire Recovery Center tends to be used by adults who are done patching patterns and want to see real shifts in how they live, think, and connect. Many come in after consequences have become visible in relationships, work, or health, and look for a structured environment where insight isn’t just talked about but practiced day after day. The work here helps people build momentum that can carry back into their daily lives, rather than waiting for life to stop before change can begin.
