Parents who are struggling with addiction are placing themselves and their children in a difficult situation. For many families in Washington, this is an all too common problem. When kids are growing up in a home with drug-addicted parents, they are more likely to abuse drugs later in life. It is important that the parents take steps to get the treatment they need. There are some drug rehab centers in Washington that are able to accommodate parents with children. This may be the situation where the parent is bringing their kid to treatment with them. If this is the case, the drug rehab center would have daycare services. Or some residential programs would have in-house services to help parents and care for the children. Typically, what happens is the treatment center will reach out to the extended family for help. This will ensure the child has a safe place to live while their parent goes through treatment.
