Teen Challenge Puerto Rico – Caguas, Puerto Rico (Women’s Center)

Teen Challenge is one of the most substantial connections of rehabilitation centers in the states that provides substance abuse and dependency recovery services in a faith-based setting. The Women’s Center in Puerto Rico provides the women gender-specific care for their behavioral and substance abuse issues. The recovery programs provided at this center aim to reconnect the clients with the Christian way of life, so they can spiritually as they receive healing physically and mentally. The clients are provided with the counselling through a long-term rehabilitation service that has a duration of 18 months, during which the client goes through three phases. Reception and Personal Motivation is the first phase of this program; it has a span of two months. It offers evaluation services that look into the psychological, social, and medical background of the client to give them appropriate treatment. It also aims to motivate the client and set goals that they can reach through the determination of their character. The second phase of this program has a duration of nine months; it offers personal understanding and counselling as a treatment for the addiction. It introduces the client to professional expertise, so they can learn strategies to overcome their addiction. Family and group support sessions are also a part of this program. During this phase, the client is also given ample opportunities to grow spiritually and physically. The last phase allows the client to integrate into the society; it has the duration of seven months. It sets long-term goals for the sober lifestyle of the client.
